Installation Guidelines
- Always power off before installing or disassembling the reader.
- Mount on wood, concrete, or brick surfaces. Avoid placing within 10 cm of large metallic structures, as these can reduce read range.
- Keep at least 0.3 m of distance between two readers to prevent interference.
- If a card remains stationary in the sensing field, the reader will not continuously transmit data — a fresh swipe is required for each read.
- Connect to a compatible access controller, multi-door controller, or attendance machine for full functionality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does this RFID card reader store card data or user information?
A: No. This 125 kHz proximity card reader is a read-only slave device. It cannot store, add, or delete card numbers, passwords, or fingerprints. It must be used in conjunction with a compatible Wiegand-input access controller board, fingerprint attendance machine, or multi-door controller that manages user data.
Q: What cards are compatible with this Wiegand 26 RFID reader?
A: This reader operates at 125 kHz and supports TK4001, EM4100, and other compatible 125 kHz ID-format proximity cards. It outputs in Wiegand 26 format, which is the most widely supported protocol for access control systems.
Q: Is this RFID card reader suitable for outdoor use?
A: Yes. The reader is constructed with PVC and resin adhesive materials that provide effective waterproofing, making it suitable for outdoor installations. It also operates across a wide temperature range of -25 °C to +75 °C, ensuring reliable performance in various weather conditions.
Q: What is the maximum read range of this proximity card reader?
A: The read range is up to 100 mm (approximately 3–10 cm), though the actual distance may vary depending on the card type used and the environment — particularly nearby metallic surfaces, which can reduce effective range.
