A: No — this lock is designed for wooden doors only. The IC card reader operates at 13.56 MHz and its signal cannot penetrate metal doors, so card-based unlocking will not function on metal door surfaces. App-based Bluetooth unlocking also requires proper installation on a compatible wooden door frame.
Q: Do I need a Tuya gateway to use the app remotely?
A: The lock connects natively via Bluetooth for close-range app control. For full remote (Wi-Fi) access and unlock history sync from anywhere, a compatible Tuya gateway device is required and sold separately.
Q: How long do the batteries last, and what happens when they run low?
A: With normal use, the 4 × AA alkaline batteries provide approximately one year of battery life. When voltage drops to 4.8V, the lock issues a voice alert to replace batteries. In the event of full battery depletion, the lock automatically releases the latch so you are never locked out.
