Q: Can this RFID cabinet lock be used in a public gym or swimming pool facility?

A: Yes! The lock features a Public Mode that is perfect for shared facilities like gyms and swimming pools. In this mode, the lock stays open by default. A user scans any valid MIFARE card to lock the cabinet and scans it again to unlock — after which that card is deactivated for single-use security. Contact us to have Public Mode enabled before shipping.

Q: What happens if the batteries run out and I can't unlock the cabinet?

A: No need to worry. An external power supply port is built into the lock. Simply connect the included emergency power adapter to the port, then swipe your card to unlock as normal. We include the external power supply with every order.

Q: What should I do if a user loses their RFID card?

A: If a card is lost, press the reset button located on the mortise near the battery holder to reset the lock. Then use the Master card to register a new user card. In Public Mode, the Master card can also be used to override and open a locked cabinet immediately.

Q: Is this smart lock compatible with hotel access control systems?

A: Yes, the JCSMARTS JCE2302 can be integrated with hotel lock management systems that use the 13.56MHz MIFARE standard. Please contact us directly with your system specifications and we will confirm compatibility and provide integration guidance.

A: Each lock supports up to 12 user cards plus 1 Master card. An optional double-card unlock mode is available, requiring both a guest card and a service card for added security — ideal for high-value storage applications.
