This lock is designed as part of a full hotel management ecosystem. Here's what a complete setup includes:

Core Components

• Management Software — Supports English and Thai (Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese in development). Win32 Dynamic Library available for custom software integration. Features include: pre-booking, check-in, room extension, room exchange, checkout, lost card reporting, and full reporting/query tools.
• Card Encoder — Required for hotel use. Issues guest room cards; supports multiple simultaneous encoder stations at reception.
• RF Cards — T5557 or M1 card (not included in standard lock package). White cards standard; custom-printed cards with logo/hotel info available on request.

Optional Add-Ons

• Handset PDA — Pre-load room info on PC, download to PDA, and configure locks on-site one by one. Also proofreads lock time, handles checkouts, reads opening records, upgrades firmware, and syncs software data.
• Energy Saving Switch — Activates room electricity only when a guest card is inserted.
• Public Door Access Reader — Allows guest room cards to unlock building/gate entry doors.
• Elevator Controller — Requires guests to swipe their room card to activate the elevator for added building security.

A: The JCSMARTS JCH118E10 RFID door lock is compatible with T5557, T5577, and standard ID cards. For hotel management systems, T5557 or M1 cards (sold separately) are used. For home/apartment/office use, the included ID cards and keyfobs work out of the box with no software needed.

Q: Does this RFID lock require a computer or special software to set up?

A: It depends on your use case. For hotel or multi-room office deployments, the management software and a card encoder are required to issue and manage guest/staff cards at scale. For simpler applications (home, apartment, small office), the included Master Card can be used to add new user cards directly — no computer or software needed.

Q: How long do the batteries last, and will I know when they're running low?

A: The lock runs on 4 × AA dry batteries (6V) and features ultra-low standby consumption (under 25 μA), making battery life very extended under normal use. A built-in low-voltage warning alerts you when it's time to replace batteries, so you're never caught off guard.

Q: What door types and thicknesses does this lock fit?

A: The JCSMARTS electronic door lock is designed for wooden doors with a thickness between 38 mm and 60 mm. If your door has pre-existing holes, please contact us with the dimensions before ordering to confirm compatibility.

A: Yes. The lock stores the latest 255 unlock records internally. When paired with the hotel management software and a Handset PDA, you can read door-opening records, generate reports, and query check-in history, card usage, and unlock logs — all from your PC.
