Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do the kids walkie talkies work right out of the box?

A: Almost! You just need to add 3 × AAA batteries to each unit (not included). Once the batteries are inserted and both radios are set to the same channel, they are ready to communicate instantly — no pairing or app required.

Q: What is the real-world communication range for these kids' two way radios?

A: In open areas with clear line-of-sight, you can expect roughly 200–300 meters of reliable communication. The maximum listed range is up to 1.5 km, but actual range depends on obstacles like buildings, trees, and terrain.

Q: Can more than two of these walkie talkies communicate at once?

A: Yes! As long as all units are set to the same channel, multiple JuniorCare walkie talkies can communicate with each other simultaneously within the effective range.

Q: Are these walkie talkies compatible with other brands?

A: These radios operate on standard US FRS frequencies (462 MHz band) with CTCSS tone 62.5 Hz. They may work with other FRS radios set to matching frequencies and CTCSS tones, though cross-brand compatibility is not guaranteed.
