Q: Does the Asia-Teco VD08 smart lock work without a Wi-Fi gateway?
A: Yes. You can unlock the VD08 via Bluetooth (within range), fingerprint, PIN keypad, IC smart card, or mechanical key — all without a gateway. A TTLock Gateway (G2 or G3, sold separately) is only required if you want remote Wi-Fi access and control through the TTLock app from outside Bluetooth range.
Q: Is the VD08 smart door lock truly waterproof for outdoor gate use?
A: The VD08 carries an IP65 waterproof rating, making it suitable for outdoor gates and exterior doors exposed to rain and dust. The included silicone waterproof pad provides additional protection. Note: the non-waterproof VT08 variant does not include the silicone pad.
Q: What door thickness does this smart deadbolt fit?
A: The lock is designed to fit doors between 30mm and 60mm thick. The standard lock cylinder and included screws can accommodate up to 70mm. For doors exceeding 70mm, please contact us at the time of ordering so we can supply the correct fittings.
