- Polarity: The positive pole (+) of the DC load power supply must be connected to the positive pole (+) of the solid state module. Reverse polarity will cause loss of control and prevent switching.
- Inductive Loads: When driving inductive loads (motors, solenoids, coils), a freewheeling diode must be connected in reverse-parallel across the load terminals to absorb reverse EMF generated at shutdown. Failure to do so may prevent the module from turning off and can damage the relay. Compatible freewheeling diodes: ZP50A/58 or ZP100A/58.
- Heat Sink Required: If your actual operating current exceeds 5A, a suitable heat sink must be installed to maintain safe operating temperatures and ensure long-term reliability.
