Assembly Guidelines — Please Read Before Use

If Using New 18650 Cells:

  1. Use 18650 power-type lithium-ion cells with low internal resistance. All 5 cells must be the same brand, model, and specifications.
  2. Do not substitute standard energy-storage lithium cells — use only high-drain 18650 power cells.
  3. Before assembly, test and balance each individual cell. All 5 cells must be charged to the same voltage level before welding the PCB.

If Repairing an Existing Battery Pack:

  1. Test the voltage at both terminals of each existing cell.
  2. If voltages differ, individually charge each cell until all are at the same voltage level before proceeding with assembly.

⚠️ Critical Safety Reminder: Ensure every 18650 cell is at the same voltage before soldering or spot-welding the PCB board. Mismatched voltages can cause damage to the PCB or create a safety hazard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this BCL1815 battery case kit include 18650 lithium-ion cells?

A: No. This kit includes only the 5-cell plastic enclosure and the PCB charging protection circuit board. You must source and supply your own 18650 power-type lithium-ion cells separately. All 5 cells must be matched in brand, model, capacity, and voltage before assembly.

Q: Which Hitachi battery models is this PCB case compatible with?

A: This plastic case and PCB board is designed to be compatible with Hitachi BCL1815, BCL1830, and EMB1830 18V lithium-ion battery packs. It is an aftermarket rebuild component and not an original Hitachi OEM part.

Q: Is this kit suitable for a beginner to assemble?

A: This product is intended only for users with practical experience in battery pack assembly and a solid understanding of lithium-ion battery performance. It requires spot welding or soldering skills and the use of proper voltage-testing equipment. Beginners should seek guidance from an experienced technician before attempting assembly.

Q: What type of 18650 cells should I use with this case?

A: Always use 18650 high-drain power-type lithium-ion cells (not standard energy-storage cells). All 5 cells must share the same brand, model, capacity (mAh), and internal resistance rating. Pre-balance each cell to the same voltage before welding to ensure safe and optimal performance.
