How to Use
1. Factory / Demo Mode
Out of the box, the module is in demonstration mode — no fingerprints are stored, and any finger can trigger the relay. This makes it easy to test wiring before locking down access.
2. Enrolling Administrator Fingerprints
Press any finger on the sensor for ~5 seconds until the pink light turns on. Remove your finger; the pink light will flash rapidly. Then press your finger 5 times after the dark blue light activates. A solid green light (~3 seconds) confirms successful enrollment. A red light indicates a failed attempt — try again. Note: You must enroll at least 2 administrator fingerprints for the setup to be valid.
3. Adding Standard User Fingerprints
Press an administrator fingerprint for ~8 seconds until the pink and then light blue LEDs illuminate. Remove your finger when the light blue light flashes to enter standard-user enrollment mode. Follow the same press-5-times process to enroll each user.
4. Deleting All Fingerprints
Hold an administrator fingerprint for ~11 seconds. When the pink light flashes slowly, press any finger once. The green light confirms all fingerprints have been cleared and the module returns to demo mode.
5. Deleting Standard User Fingerprints Only
Hold an administrator fingerprint for ~15 seconds until the light blue light flashes slowly (second light-blue flash). Press any finger; the green light confirms that all standard-user fingerprints are removed while administrator fingerprints remain active.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the LIHTNE LF12 fingerprint relay module compatible with both 12V and 24V vehicles?
A: Yes. The LF12 supports both DC 12V and DC 24V operating voltages, making it compatible with most standard automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, and other 12V or 24V DC-powered equipment.
Q: How many fingerprints can the LF12 module store?
A: The module can store up to 10 administrator fingerprints and 30 standard user fingerprints — a total of 40 unique fingerprint profiles — making it suitable for individual, family, or small fleet use.
Q: What happens if I forget to enroll a second administrator fingerprint during setup?
A: The system requires a minimum of 2 administrator fingerprints to be enrolled during the initial setup. If only one is enrolled, the entry is considered invalid and the module remains in demonstration mode. Simply repeat the administrator enrollment process and add at least 2 administrator fingerprints.
Q: Can the fingerprint relay module operate in extreme temperatures?
A: Yes. The LF12 is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F), ensuring reliable performance in both very cold winters and hot summer conditions.
Q: How do I reset the module to factory settings?
A: To reset to factory/demo mode, hold an administrator fingerprint on the sensor for approximately 11 seconds until the pink light flashes slowly, then press any finger once. A green light confirmation means all fingerprints are cleared and the module is back to demonstration mode.
